# Pool your funds > **Note** > > Funds Pooling is only available in the following regions: Europe (Checkout SAS), United Kingdom (Checkout Ltd), and United States (Checkout LLC). If you have insufficient _Available_ or _Pending_ funds in a sub-account for [Card Payouts](https://www.checkout.com/docs/payments/request-payouts/card-payouts.md), [Issuing payments](https://www.checkout.com/docs/card-issuing.md), and [refunds](https://www.checkout.com/docs/payments/manage-payments/refund-a-payment.md), Checkout.com automatically transfers funds from another sub-account for that entity. This solution: - Optimizes payment processing by reducing declines due to insufficient funds - Reduces manual intervention by automatically transferring funds to the sub-accounts where they’re needed - Uses idle funds efficiently > **Information** > > To enable or disable Funds Pooling, contact your account manager or [request support](https://dashboard.checkout.com/support/new?topic=case_account_management_and_access&issue=issue_account_changes). --- ## How it works If you initiate a card payout, issuing payment, or refund from a sub-account that has insufficient _Available_ or _Pending_ funds, Checkout.com automatically transfers funds from another sub-account in the same pool to fund the payment. We transfer funds from the pooled sub-account that has the highest _Available_ or _Pending_ balance at the time of the transfer. If the transfer requires a currency conversion, we apply an FX markup as specified in your pricing schedule. For more information, see [Currency conversions](#Currency_conversions). For example, you make payouts from `USD` and `EUR` sub-accounts that are part of a pool. You begin the day with positive balances on both sub-accounts. At midday, you’ve used up your `USD` balance and it hits zero. At 12:05 PM, there's a card payout request in `USD`, but you’ve not yet added funds to your `USD` balance. With Funds Pooling enabled and sufficient funds in your `EUR` sub-account, we convert the required amount from the `EUR` sub-account and transfer it to the `USD` sub-account. This enables the payout to be made without manual intervention. --- ## Create and structure pools You can create multiple pools for your entity and structure them to match your operational and reconciliation needs. You can choose which sub-accounts to include in a pool, as long as they are: - Owned by the same entity - Held in a [supported currency](#Supported_currencies) - Not already in another pool > **Information** > > To update the sub-accounts in your pools, contact your account manager or [request support](https://dashboard.checkout.com/support/new?topic=case_account_management_and_access&issue=issue_account_changes). --- ## Currency conversions If the sub-accounts are in different currencies, Checkout.com applies the live industry-standard interbank foreign exchange (FX) base rate to convert the amount transferred between your sub-accounts. We also apply an FX markup for each currency conversion, as specified in your Pricing Schedule. ### Supported currencies Funds Pooling supports the following currencies in the Eurozone, the United Kingdom (UK), and United States (US). | Currency | Region | | --- | --- | | `CHF` Swiss franc | Eurozone and UK | | `DKK` Danish krone | Eurozone and UK | | `EUR` Euro | Eurozone and UK | | `GBP` Pound sterling | Eurozone and UK | | `NOK` Norwegian krone | Eurozone and UK | | `PLN` Polish zloty | Eurozone | | `RON` Romanian leu | Eurozone | | `SEK` Swedish krona | Eurozone | | `USD` US dollar | Eurozone, UK, and US |
