# Settlement Statement The Settlement Statement provides an overview of your settlement, including a summary of associated financial activities. For example, refunds, chargebacks, and fees. You can give this document to your bank as proof of a given payment from Checkout.com. To see the specific payments and fees included in the settlement, see your [Financial Actions by Payout ID Report](https://www.checkout.com/docs/funds-management/retrieve-financial-reports/settlement-reports/financial-actions-by-payout-id-report.md). --- ## Statement availability The statement is created when your settlement is generated, between midnight and 2:00 AM in your entity's [settlement time zone](https://www.checkout.com/docs/funds-management/receive-settlements.md#Settlement_time_zone). You receive a statement for every settlement paid out to your bank account, in line with your [settlement schedule](https://www.checkout.com/docs/funds-management/receive-settlements.md#Settlement_schedule). For example, assume that your settlement time zone is `America/Los_Angeles` Pacific Time (PT) and your settlement schedule is daily. You receive a `USD` settlement from Checkout.com on August 4, with the payout/settlement ID `00000000CFJU`. Your Settlement Statement with statement ID `00000000CFJU`, which is created at midnight PT on August 4, explains that settlement. It includes all financial activities in `USD` on August 3, from midnight to 11:59 PM PT. See instructions on how to download the statement on demand or on a schedule: - [Using the API](https://www.checkout.com/docs/business-operations/retrieve-reports.md#Retrieve_reports_via_API) - [Using Secure File Transfer Protocol](https://www.checkout.com/docs/business-operations/retrieve-reports.md#Access_reports_via_SFTP) (SFTP) - [Using webhooks](https://www.checkout.com/docs/business-operations/retrieve-reports.md#Receive_reports_using_webhooks) > **Note** > > All amounts in your statement are expressed in the [major currency unit](https://www.checkout.com/docs/payments/accept-payments/format-the-amount-value.md), rounded to two decimal points. > For example, a total chargeback fee of 33.33333 USD appears as 33.33 USD on your statement. > This makes statements unsuitable for reconciliation. --- ## Statement format The statement is provided as a PDF file. By default, the file name uses the following format: - API and SFTP – `settlement-statement_{EntityID}_{Payout Date: YYYYMMDD}_{Payout ID}.pdf` - Dashboard scheduled reports – `settlement-statement_{EntityID}_{Payout Date: YYYYMMDD}_{Payout ID}.pdf` For SFTP, the statement is uploaded in the following folder structure: {Entity_name} > reports-{Entity_name} > _settlement-statements_ Dates and times, including the period each statement covers, are in UTC. --- ## Sample statement [Download a sample Settlement Statement](https://www.checkout.com/docs/large-media-assets/settlement-statement_ent_dghi2h6cmtqulmrtxd_20230115_00000XY34.pdf) (PDF file). > **Information** > > If using Safari, hold down the _Option_ key when selecting the link to download the file. --- ## Statement contents ### Header The statement header contains the following: - Your legal business details: - Entity name - Address - VAT registration number - Entity ID, prefixed with `ent_` - Client account - Checkout.com entity name and address - Statement information: - Statement ID - Statement date - Statement period ### Summary The summary outlines the financial activities associated with the settlement. On your bank statement, identify a payment from Checkout.com. 2. In your bank statement's reference field, find the payment's unique 12-character ID and download the Settlement Statement with the matching ID. The amount settled in your account should equal the net amount on your statement.
