# Account types
The Platforms solution offers two different account types, `Lite` and `Full`, to accommodate the different licensing statuses or requirements of the platforms Checkout.com works with.
Your account type determines:
- The verification checks performed when onboarding your sub-entities
- The capabilities that are available to your sub-entities and enabled once checks are completed
Unless otherwise agreed during your onboarding, the checks and capabilities for each account type are as follows:
| Account type | Verification checks | Sub-entity capabilities |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Lite](https://www.checkout.com/docs/platforms/account-types/lite-account.md) | - Card scheme screening (CSS) | - Payments |
| [Full](https://www.checkout.com/docs/platforms/account-types/full-account.md) | - Card scheme screening
- Financial Crime Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering checks such as know your customer (KYC), know your business (KYB), politically exposed persons (PEPs), sanctions | - Payments
- Payouts |
