# Onboard a sub-entity with the Dashboard You can use the Dashboard to submit an onboarding application for a sub-entity. --- ## Submit required information When you onboard a sub-entity, you can provide the [required information](https://www.checkout.com/docs/platforms/onboard-sub-entities/collect-verification-information.md) yourself through the Dashboard. Your Platforms [account type](https://www.checkout.com/docs/platforms/account-types.md) determines the sub-entity information required during the onboarding process. To submit the required information yourself: 1. Sign in to the [Dashboard](https://dashboard.checkout.com). 2. Go to _Sub-entities_. 3. Select _+ Onboard a sub-entity_. 4. On the pop-up window that appears, select _Add sub-entity details now_, and then select _Continue_. 5. Select the parent entity for the sub-entity you're onboarding. This is the entity name assigned to your platform. 6. Enter a unique alphanumeric reference for the sub-entity, and select _Continue_. 7. Select the country that the sub-entity is registered in. 8. Select the sub-entity's business type. 9. Select _Begin_. A new page appears where you can provide the required sub-entity information. 10. Complete the form and select _Submit_. You are redirected to the _Sub-entity details_ page. > **Information** > > You can also invite a sub-entity to submit the required information themselves. See [Hosted Onboarding](https://www.checkout.com/docs/platforms/onboard-sub-entities/onboard-with-hosted-onboarding.md) for more information. ## Verification process When you've submitted the required information, we automatically trigger the verification process. To find out what stage of the verification process your sub-entity is currently in: 1. Sign in to the [Dashboard](https://dashboard.checkout.com). 2. Go to _Sub-entities_.
You can view the status of your sub-entities in the _Status_ column. If you've configured your [webhook server](https://www.checkout.com/docs/developer-resources/event-notifications/receive-webhooks/configure-your-webhook-server.md) and subscribed to the [relevant events](https://www.checkout.com/docs/platforms/onboard-sub-entities/handle-webhooks.md), you'll also be notified asynchronously of any changes to your sub-entity's status via the [Status changed](https://www.checkout.com/docs/developer-resources/event-notifications/event-types/status_changed.md) webhook. When the sub-entity is approved, we enable their capabilities based on your Platforms account type: - `Lite` account - Your sub-entity has access to payment capabilities. - `Full` account - Your sub-entity has access to payment and payout capabilities. --- ## Related topics **[Handle webhooks](https://www.checkout.com/docs/platforms/onboard-sub-entities/handle-webhooks.md)** Learn about the different webhooks you receive when onboarding sub-entities. **[Sub-entity status](https://www.checkout.com/docs/platforms/manage-sub-entities/sub-entity-status.md)** Learn about the different sub-entity statuses.
