# Platforms for SaaS

Checkout.com for SaaS is designed for software platforms that need to process payments for their sub-entities but are not licensed or regulated to participate directly in the flow of funds.

## Sub-entity onboarding and verification

During onboarding, Checkout.com performs the required verification and compliance checks on your sub-entities, including:

- Card Scheme Screening (CSS)

- Financial Crime Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks, such as know your customer (KYC), know your business (KYB), politically exposed persons (PEPs), and sanctions.

If a sub-entity successfully passes these checks, their payment and payout capabilities are enabled.

## Key features

- Checkout.com pays settlement funds directly to each sub-entity’s verified bank account.
- You may earn revenue when Checkout.com applies an agreed mark-up to the prices it charges the sub-entities.
- Checkout.com can agree to different markups and apply different prices to different categories of your sub-entities.

## Routing and holding of funds from payments

When Checkout.com onboards a sub-entity, the sub-entity can specify holding currencies. For each holding currency specified, Checkout.com creates a corresponding sub-account for the sub-entity.

A sub-entity may specify its default holding currency. For example, USD.

When Checkout.com processes payments for your sub-entities, we route and hold funds as follows:

- Payments processed in USD are routed to and held in the sub-entity’s USD sub-account.
- Payments processed in any other currency are routed to and held in the sub-account corresponding to the sub-entity’s default holding currency. In this case, USD.

## Sub-entity settlements

When Checkout.com processes payments for your sub-entities via your platform integration, we can transfer the captured funds to each sub-entity's verified bank account as a settlement payout.
