You can use one of three following types of mark-up: - Fixed - a fixed mark-up, charged per payment in [minor currency units](https://www.checkout.com/docs/payments/accept-payments/format-the-amount-value.md). - Variable - a variable mark-up, charged as a percentage of the payment amount. - Compound - a compound mark-up, charged as a fixed amount per payment combined with a percentage of the payment amount. If you do not wish to charge a mark-up, do not include it in the request's `amount_allocations` object. Call the [Request a payment or payout](https://api-reference.checkout.com/tag/Payments/#operation/requestAPaymentOrPayout) endpoint. In the request body, provide the following: - `source` – The source of payment. - `amount` - `currency` - `description` - `processing_channel_id` - `amount_allocations.id` – The sub-entity ID to link the payment to the sub-entity - `amount_allocations.amount` – The amount to be credited to your sub-entity's currency account, in [minor currency unit](https://www.checkout.com/docs/payments/accept-payments/format-the-amount-value.md). - `amount_allocations.commission.amount` – If applicable, the fixed mark-up in [minor currency units](https://www.checkout.com/docs/payments/accept-payments/format-the-amount-value.md) - `amount_allocation.commission.percentage` – If applicable, the variable mark-up In the following example, the request charges a fixed mark-up of 2 USD: > **Information** > > Your base URL's `{prefix}` value is unique to your account and environment.
