Acceleration
Last updated: July 29, 2026
Acceleration enables you to access funds faster than the standard availability speed that Checkout.com sets for each currency.
You're eligible for this service if:
- Your business is based in the European Economic Area, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, or United States.
- Your settlement currency is
AED,EUR,GBP, orUSD. - You clear a risk check with us.
Availability speeds depend on the type of day a transaction is captured on:
- Working Day – Any day other than a Saturday, Sunday, public holiday, or other day on which banks are generally closed. We determine the relevant jurisdiction for each sub-account, based on either the applicable currency or the contracting Checkout.com entity.
- Non-Working Day – Any day that is not a Working Day.
By default, transactions captured on Non-Working Days are made available at the standard availability speed for the relevant currency. Subject to approval from your account manager, you can also accelerate transactions captured on Non-Working Days.
Depending on the payout currency, the following Non-Working Day acceleration options are available:
- Weekend acceleration – Applies to transactions captured on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Holiday acceleration – Applies to transactions captured on public holidays and other Non-Working Days that we designate for the relevant currency.
Information
To enable and configure acceleration, contact your account manager or request support. Provide an overview of the configuration you need.
If you require Non-Working Day acceleration, specify whether you want weekend acceleration, holiday acceleration, or both.
Acceleration is useful if:
- Your business operates in on-demand economies.
- You have frequent customer or business obligations.
- You use your acquiring revenue to fund other Checkout.com solutions – for example, Card or Bank Payouts or Issuing. Product and feature availability varies by region.
| Acquiring location | Currency | Default option | Acceleration option |
|---|---|---|---|
United States |
| T+2 | T+1, T+0 |
United Arab Emirates |
| T+2 | T+1, T+0 |
European Economic Area |
| T+2 | T+1, T+0 |
United Kingdom |
| T+2 | T+1, T+0 |
Standard availability speeds are indicative. They may differ depending on the currency, card scheme, payment method, the Checkout.com entity servicing your account, and your account configuration.
Once funds are available, Checkout.com settles them to you as follows:
- Twice during the day's banking hours (intraday)
- Once shortly after midnight, before we receive funds from the card schemes or payment methods
You can use the funds that day, regardless of banking hours.
Same-day acceleration is supported for the locations and currencies listed in the table above.
Checkout.com can also accelerate to other availability speeds, depending on your standard availability speed and account configuration.
For example, if your standard availability speed is T+3, you can accelerate it to T+1 (next-day availability) or T+2.
Availability accelerated to T+1 or later is paid out in your settlement time zone, as per your settlement schedule.
Note
Intraday settlement is only available for same-day (T+0) availability.
The following table shows when funds are made available for T+2 compared to T+1, based on the date the transaction is captured. These are settled to you on the same day if you have a daily payout settlement schedule:
| Transaction date | T+2 | T+1 |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | Wednesday | Tuesday |
| Tuesday | Thursday | Wednesday |
| Wednesday | Friday | Thursday |
| Thursday | Monday | Friday |
| Friday | Tuesday following week | Monday following week |
| Saturday | Tuesday following week | Monday following week |
| Sunday | Tuesday following week | Monday following week |
You can use acceleration up to a maximum amount per day, configured separately for each currency account.
Depending on the day the transaction is captured, one of the following limits applies:
- Working Day limit – The maximum amount you can accelerate for transactions captured on a Working Day.
- Non-Working Day limit – The maximum amount you can accelerate for transactions captured on a Non-Working Day. This limit applies only if Non-Working Day acceleration is enabled for your account.
Note
The limit that applies depends on the type of day the transaction was captured on, not on the days between capture and when your funds become available.
Checkout.com defines your acceleration limits during account configuration, and may adjust them based on your processing volume, past use, and other risk factors.
When you reach the applicable daily acceleration limit, any additional transactions captured that day become available at your standard availability speed instead of the acceleration speed. We do not charge acceleration fees for these transactions.
For example, if your standard availability speed is T+3, your acceleration speed is T+1, and you reach your Working Day limit at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, any transactions captured after that time become available on T+3 (Friday) instead of T+1 (Wednesday).
Checkout.com charges a fee on the captured amount for each accelerated transaction, for each day of acceleration. We calculate the fee as follows:
Fee = Rate x Days of acceleration x Captured amount
Where:
- Rate – The percentage charged per day of acceleration, defined for each payout currency in your Pricing Schedule. Depending on the day the transaction is captured, one of the following rates applies:
- Working Day rate – Applies to transactions captured on a Working Day.
- Non-Working Day rate – Applies to transactions captured on a Non-Working Day.
- Days of acceleration – The difference, in days, between your standard availability speed and your acceleration speed. For example, if your standard availability speed is T+3 and your acceleration speed is T+1, the transaction has 2 days of acceleration.
- Captured amount – The amount captured for the transaction.
For example, if your standard availability speed is T+3, your acceleration speed is T+1, and we capture a transaction of 1,000 GBP on a Wednesday (a Working Day) with a Working Day rate of 0.05% per day, we calculate the acceleration fee as follows:
0.05% x 2 days x 1,000 GBP = 1 GBP
The acceleration fee appears as an Acceleration Variable Fee line item in your invoice. For more information, see Card processing fees.
